Just finished reading the book by Ben Mezrich, "Bringing Down the House", and definitely want to recommend it to others. I may not be some kind of mathematical genius but I am very glad that the mathematicians of the world have some 'angle' on how to make it rich.
Congrats to the boys and girls out of MIT. Job well done!
As for the casinos who utilize 'strong arm tactics' to scare off the card counters, I say "a pox on you all". Let the smart kids have some fun. Damn casinos make enough off the real suckers who go down to Vegas and end up losing their shirts, minds, and virginity.
Gunowners and 'people with a conscience' are invited to travel down to a small region in Africa to hunt for 'mass murderers', 'rapists', 'evil men', and 'sadists'. Gunowners will be awarded for each kill: 100 points for rapists. 50 points for evil men. 10 points for sadists. The gunowner who hunts down and kills the most 'game' will be awarded with the best prize possible: "A World of Thanks" and possibly the 'Nobel Peace Prize'.
Read this editorial about the crimes occuring in Darfur. I am not highlighting this editorial to criticize GW Bush et. al. GW still has time to correct his mistakes and send in soldiers to 'round up the evildoers' and bring them to justice. But, should GW refuse to do anything, then 'let the games begin'.
Grab a weapon and head down to Darfur - remember "Good Hunting"! Points! Points! Points!
Excerpts from editorial
"I was collecting firewood for my family when three armed men on camels came and surrounded me. They held me down, tied my hands and raped me, one after the other. When I arrived home, I told my family what had happened.
"They threw me out of home, and I had to build my own hut away from them. I was engaged to a man, and I was so much looking forward to getting married. After I got raped, he did not want to marry me and broke off the engagement because he said I was now disgraced and spoilt. .
[comment: Where is the United Nations? What is Kofi going to do about all the crimes being committed in Darfur?]
"We're proud of what we do," said Kenny Gluck, the operations director based in the Netherlands for Doctors Without Borders. "But people's villages have been burned, their crops have been destroyed, their wells spiked, their family members raped, tortured and killed - and they come to us, and we give them 2,100 kilocalories a day." In effect, Mr. Gluck said, the aid effort is sustaining victims so they can be killed with a full belly.
[comments: What is the world waiting for? An invitation? Where is the outrage?]
When I first heard about this new game, Ghettopoly, (?), I thought the FoxNews program host was 'pulling my leg'. I cannot believe anyone would put together this type of game. Yeah, I know, where there's a will there's a Yankee Greenback involved. Yeah, I know, if I am a true blue-blooded capitalist, I should not mind what David T. Change does with his time or money. Nor should I be upset if 'people' actually go out and buy it!!! But, I don't find his business idea/model very 'cool'. I know he plans on bringing out other ethnic or racial versions. As a Chinese-Canadian I am not too pleased with someone 'mocking' my racial ethnicity. Looks like RPT-Hasbro is bringing legal action against Chang et. al. Let's see how this turns out later.
