I do not believe the past decade of churning out MBAs and sending them into the world to squeeze efficiencies and wring out more profits has helped at all. I wonder how much added, long-term value MBA grads-turned-executives have actually made the world a better place.
A race to the bottom of raising profits while lowering the standard of service and pushing workers to sacrifice all for the good of society (the company) is a misguided company mantra.
If JR East in Tokyo has hired any MBShits recently, they should rethink their HR strategy. JR need more hard-working people who are committed to a long-term career at the company. Too often the only thing MBAs think about is that corner office or their year-end bonus.
Please stop cranking out theoretical, case-study spewing MBAs. Instead pump out practising managers. Read Professor Henry M's book. Stop screwing up the world.
