Air France Flight #447: What Brought Down the Plane?

Mechanical failure? Human error? Foul play? Which one brought down the plane?

In less than 90 days, I have a strange suspicion that someone high up in the French government will begin laying out a 'conspiracy scenario'. The question will become 'Who brought down AF447?' and not 'What brought down AF447?'.

Who was on the flight? Why would some government agency want to bring down the plane? Was this an act of war?
