US Unemployment Rate: 7.5%

If so, shouldn't the government also layoff/fire 7.5% of US Senators and Representatives? And how about their assistants? Shouldn't everyone help share the pain?

I really think that the economy would recover much faster if politicians knew they were going to get laid off too.
