Gee. I kinda expected this to occur. I mean if the GW White House is "listening into my conversations" between myself and my US-based business colleagues, I was pretty darn sure they were opening my postal correspondence. (Read CNN.) I doubt really give a "rat's ass" if some ding-dong in the US is reading all my private/business correspondence. What I object to are the following actions:
My Possible Objections with the Opening of My Private Mail
Custom's and Border Protection staff who:
1) Find out about M&A transactions I am working on and buying shares in the target companies,
2) Lick the letter and leave their DNA all over the documents,
3) Gratify themselves on the correspondence and make the document untouchable,
4) Change the contents of the correspondence to kill M&A deals (i.e. marking in a lower price, etc.),
5) Spill beer on them as they are reviewing the documents,
6) Use my correspondence to build their pen-pals mailing list,
7) Use the paper to wipe their butts in the loo,
8) Use the paper as 'cheap food napkins', and
9) Spit on the documents because I am a Canadian.
Now, if the boys and girls at CBP do none of the above, I don't really care that they read my mail. I mean, the job they are doing has got to be a 'thankless' one, right?
