I was surprised to see that Semel and the Gang are going after a chunk of AOL Web Properties. If Yahoo emerges as the winner over the combo of Google and Comcast, does Jonathan Miller still keep his job? Or does Dan R. take over AOL? If not, why not?
As a shareholder in both companies, I would like to see YHOO emerge as the winner in any auction bidding process. I believe AOL fits better within YHOO. Why? I don't know. It's too hard to put my opinion into words.
But with GOOG's huge cash reserves, they can drop a full $5B onto DIck Parsons' lap and not blink an eye. If Yahoo puts in a bid, they should offer a stock swap and cash to Parsons et. al.
The gang at Googleplex must be stopped before they take over the entire Internet. They are fast becoming the new Microsoft of the 21st Century.
