After reading a few newspapers about the US and its current ongoing war in Iraq, I can't help but feel sorry for the Christian Coalition who helped put GW into the White House twice. And why do I feel sorry for them? Think about it.
GW and Karl Rove promised the CC that their agenda would be pushed forward into the grand national debate. The CC has a long shopping list of items from 'school prayers', 'Ten Commandments in public buildings', 'teaching of Creationism or Intelligent Design in schools', 'overturning Roe v. Wade', 'constitutional amendment against abortion' and the list goes on and on. Rove, the envoy, guaranteed the CC that their needs and concerns would be addressed by GW if they helped get him into office. Well, after occupying the White House for more than 5 years, nothing has happened. The CC is no closer to realizing their dreams than they were when Clinto was in office.
All the CC got was a war. A war that is taking the lives of Christians. Christians fighting a war with their hands tied behind their backs. Why doesn't the White House put more 'boots on the ground' and seize control of every corner of the country? Or for that matter, why doesn't GW just take over the country and declare that it is under the direct control and protection of the USA? Why pretend to go through the entire charade of an Iraqi Constitution. The constitution will not hold. GW should instead give the country to the CC. Let the CC and their supporters bring Christianity to the Middle East.
You think I'm joking? Nope. I really believe that the only way to bring eternal peace to the region is to bring Christianity to the region. GW should reignite the Christian Crusades and let Christianity rule the region from the Middle East through Asia. This could be GW's way into the good graces of God and into future history books as a man who brought peace to the region.
Let's put it this way: the radical Islamic extremists want us (Christians and Jews) dead. They don't want us out of the region. They want us wiped off the face of this planet. Well, if it's a war they want, it's a war they shall have.
If GW and Karl Rove can just see this as a war of religions, it would be a much easier sell to the American voters. C'mon Karl - it's time to bring out the 'new playbook' - Winning the war of religion.
