If Sheehan runs for Congress as a Democrat, the GOP will have one helluva opponent. As she has a 'stake' in the War in Iraq, she can muster up alot of support and debate. Just think: How many US Congressmen/women lost a child in Iraq? How many? I don't know the answer but I suspect very few sittting politicians lost a son or daughter. Don't you think it is about time for politicians to send their sons and daughters into harm's way if they are so eager to send the troops into war zones?
I am no pacificist or anti-war supporter but I do believe that politicians should put their own personal stake into any war. Whether that stake be in the form of a loved one serving in the military or something on the same level, politicians have to show that they DO care. No more doubletalk. No more lip service.
BTW, don't you think it is in the interest of every American that GW meet Sheehan and let her have her time with him? I mean what could it hurt GW?
