US Government: Depleted Uranium Shells

I am sitting here at home on a Sunday afternoon watching a very interesting television programme about the US Government's usage of depleted uranium in special weapons in the Iraqi War. From what I understand of the programme, the US government does not and will not acknowledge the danger of the DU ordinance in war. The hostess of the programme interviewed US soldiers who served in Iraq. What I saw surely made me what to vomit. Many of the soldiers who either fathered or had children post-service in Iraq had children born with severe deformities.

It is unbelieveable how the US government can not assist those soldiers who faithfully put themselves into harm's way at the order of the President. I would hope that the US Congress would move whatever mountains needed moving in a concerted effort to help those who have fallen ill since returning from Iraq.

The show showed how the people of Iraq have faired as well. The children born since the war are severely crippled and will need many milions of dollars of treatment. Unfortunately, many of those children will never be treated and shall live out the rest of their lives in pain. Is this how the 'extreme right wing of the GOP' are trying to win the support of the world? Do true Christians really believe this is the best way to 'spread the word of God'? In my version of the bible, God does not force His word upon people via DU.

Now that the USA has broken Iraq, I sure hope they fix it since they own it now. Iraq is now the 51st state of the republic. How soon will the US Congress grant Iraqis, oops, I mean, Iraqi-Americans the right to vote? Will they be granted the right to vote in time for the 2008 elections? Or how about the 2012 elections?

By the way, how soon will it be before the US invades Canada and tries to turn us Canucks into Americans? Will Canada become the 52nd state? Or will North Korea become the 52nd state?

When will Newt come back to public service and help restore 'order' and 'honour' to the USA? Newt may be the only one who can save the GOP from the 'Christian Coalition' - hell, we know that Dr. Frist and DeLay, if left unchecked, will bring the Hammer of God upon the heads of the non-believers. And we all know that DeLay is the Hammer.
