In Japan, there is a new scam called "One Ring" which leads to high charges made to one's mobile telephone. Here's how it works. A company hires someone to ring your mobile phone and hangs up right away. Now, most people just hit 'return dial' on their mobile phones without thinking about who might be on the other end. Often, the telephone numbers are bogus fronts for 'criminal organizations'. When the phone is answered it is often some 'sex talk line'. One the phone is answered on their end, you are charged lots of money - how much I do not know.
Well, I think some 'woman' tried to call my mobile. Don't ask me how they choose the numbers. Anyhow, here are the numbers that the woman used to ring me. If you want, ring them up from a 'pay phone' and give them 'hell'! Waste their time so that they cannot phone some unsuspecting person.
Dial #03-5443-4555 (or) #03.5476-5993. Remember that these are Tokyo telephone numbers.
