No matter what Gov. Schwarzenegger decided in the matter of California vs. Kevin Cooper, he would be upsetting somebody. Had he stayed the execution of Cooper, the pro-capital punishment would have been up in arms. With his final decision, he has the anti-capital punishment group upset. As an elected official he and he alone must carry the burden of the office. History will judge him and his administration. At least for now, the public knows the governor is not afraid of making unpopular decisions. An admirable trait. (Reuters.)
