Time for Japanese companies to 'rethink' their China strategy. In light of the most recent protests (Sept 2012), I don't think it is a good idea to stay in the country. Perhaps, it is better to pull up stakes and return to Japan or other countries in SE Asia. Why stay in China when it is quite obvious that many of the citizens no longer want Japan to be there?

Does anyone blog anymore? So many other options available to us. Should I cut my losses and leave blogging to others?

The New GOP: Frightening Outlook for the USA and the Rest of the World

Based on what happened in Iowa this week, I am starting to worry about the world. Should the far-right wing of the GOP actually win the White House, we can kiss the world good-bye. Why? Here are my reasons:

1) No new taxes / no taxes at all: This stance will only ensure mass rioting in the New Republic of the GOP.
2) Protect the US Dollar: Trade wars? No. Currency wars are far more devasting.
3) No more abortions: Taking away a woman's right over her own body is the first step of a state where govt controls your entire body. Slippery slope.
4) More guns: Well, we should expect to see way more murders and the loss of young children through accidental shootings, etc. Guns don't kill people, only stupid people who leave their guns unlocked and within reach of young children.
5) Invasion of Canada: Mark my words. I believe the US will invade Canada for whatever reason they wish. Call it the 'Invade Canada to protect the oil, minerals, water, etc from the Liberals', or 'Invade Canada because Canadians actually believe in taxation'.
6) A Christian Nation: The only religion practised in the GOP Republic will be whatever they tell you to follow. No other religions allowed. And for those who do not believe in God, they will be forced to attend church.
7) Women as Submissives: Yup, women will be sent home to get pregnant and stay barefoot in the kitchen.
8) Voter Franchise Lost: Only those who drink from the GOP Republic Kool-Aid may retain the right to vote.
9) News Media: No choice but to watch Fox News. All other stations will be banned.
10) Religious War: The newly crowned King will lead the world into decades of religious war.

Please. I hope the moderates within the GOP will select a candidate that believes in the good of government and that how government can help people's lives. Government should not be allowed in the bedrooms of its citizens. Nor should government be in the doctor's examination/surgery rooms. Government should not dictate which religion to follow. And government should lead and not be preachy.

This is going to be a very bad year for the US and the rest of the world. I wonder how many people will be jumping off the top of their offices in downtown Manhattan. We can put the blame on those so-called GOP/Tea Baggers who have hijacked the party of reason. I cannot believe how gullible the GOP has bought into the right wing garbage that is being sold to the rest of America.

It is time for the GOP to kick out the likes of Boehner, Cantor, Ryan, etc. How can any true Republican stand by and let these so-called leaders of the party take the entire republic to the edge of the cliff and kick seniors, veterans, gov't workers into the abyss?

Time for change must come from within. Vote out the GOP leaders. Bring in new and younger blood. Anyone over the age of 60 should be removed from political and elected office. The world belongs to the young. We had better give them the power to change the world before the old and stupid drive the entire planet off the cliff.

Japan has done so much to clean up the debris from the devasting earthquake and tsunami of March 11th, 2011. Let's hope the government can get its act in gear and do more and do it faster.

China Govt Worried about Possible Weekend Protests

Is the Chinese government so worried that they will lose control of the citizenry just like Libya, Egypt, etc? Wow, I never thought I would like to see the day when China went democratic. Exciting times in Asia.

King's Speech

I read that Queen Elizabeth received a private viewing of the film and praised the work. What impressed me about the film and the background to it was that the Royals asked the film production team to not work on it until after her mother's passing. Knowing that the film would bring up many sad memories of the King, Her Majesty asked the production crew to wait. And wait they did.

I will definitely go see the film and buy it. I believe it is a good story and one worth telling. The background to the film is worthy of the price of admission. Respect to the wishes of Her Majesty's mother earns my respect as well. Long live Her Majesty!!

Fox News Criticizes the Tucson, AZ Mourning

I guess the crew at Fox News really have no manners. How could they criticize the way the people of Arizona mourn and celebrate the lives of those affected by the mad man who killed and wounded so many innocents? I think that the crew at Fox News want to convince the world that only true Americans (e.g. GOPers) know how to mourn the loss of the faithful. I think you know what I mean.

Did you hear what the crew on the morning show said? What did the idiots say? I cannot believe it. And what about Mr Hume? Can you actually trust him anymore? What nerve of that old guy? What a set of balls for that attitude. I don't know why people actually watch that channel anymore.

I guess the role of media in the 21st Century is to take this planet directly to hello. God help us all. And may God help those who truly understand the bible (and not the corrupted version that the Far Right Wing of the GOP believe in).

We need to take back the party. The far right wing have done enough damage to the GOP.

I guess some people on the far-right side of the GOP have no conscience. Nor do they care about the 9-year girl who was just gunned down in Arizona. I honestly believe that in order for the GOP to truly win the hearts of the country, people like Mansour and Palin must be thrown out of the party. The GOP big-tent should not allow bigots, racists, gun-toting killers, kill-thy-opponents, etc. Let Mansour, Palin and their ilk form their own natioal party and stay there.

And where is Fox News? Should they continue paying obscene amounts of cash to Palin? Do they really want people like her followers and aides running the republic? I think not.

It is time to bring civility back to politics. Unless the Tea Party wants to continue burying 9-year girls.

Tea Party Has Blood on Its Hands: Shootings in AZ

Is this the new political game plan of the Tea Party? Do they promote the violent overthrow of the government? When will Gov Sarah Palin take a stand against such violence? Or is the NRA involved? Is it time for the US to break up and allow those who promote 'a pure society' to form their own country? What good is it to try to hold together 50 states when 50% of the population wants to overthrow the federal government? Just carve up the lower 48 and let those who belong to the Tea Party, Conservative Right, Moral Majority, etc have their own shot at creating their own perfect union. Let's face it, the US experiment of creating a melting pot is failing. Isn't it time for the country to realize it might be best to dissolve the union?

No Jobs, No Future Prospects: Citizenry Protests in China

How much longer will the Chinese government keep the millions of educated and disillusioned young from rising their own armies and marching to Beijing? As millions and millions of new university graduates cannot find jobs, will they force the ruling elite to step aside and let the 'New China' to take over?

Think about the ramifications of such an event. China would surely grow much faster than under its current 'central command planning authority'. All the corruption would be removed and corrupt officials would be thrown into prison or put to death.

I would love to see a new China: free and taking its rightful position on the world stage. China must accept its global responsibilities of ensuring peace and growth throughout the world. And its first order of business must be to rein in the military aspirations of its neighbour to the south: North Korea.

Only when China takes a stand against North Korea will the world begin to truly accept the Middle Kingdom as a true global partner.

Ozawa Rejects PM Kan's Request To Appear Before Ethics Panel

TOKYO (Dow Jones)--Strife within Japan's ruling party escalated Monday after a scandal-tainted party heavyweight rejected a request from the prime minister to appear before a parliamentary ethics panel, likely fanning worries about a political stalemate.

Ichiro Ozawa, a former president of the ruling Democratic Party of Japan, who has been mired in allegations of misuse of campaign funds, spurned a call from Prime Minister Naoto Kan to attend a hearing of the Lower House of Parliament's ethics council.

South Korea Fights Back

Now, that news headline would catch my attention.

I do not believe anyone can talk sense into the North Koreans. As a result, the South has two choices: (1) live in permanent fear of attack, or (2) cross the DMZ and take back the peninsula.

Time is running out on another generation of Koreans. They should not have to live in fear of someone dropping bombs or denotating a nuke over Seoul. The South needs to take a stand and force the North to surrender. Only then, can the peninsual live in peace. Death for peace. Not a bad trade-off for the South.

Living in Japan, I, too fear that North Korea will lob a few bombs on top of our heads in order to draw Japan into a battle which means the Americans come along for the ride. Which eventually will bring China back into the battle in order to help their friends of North Korea. This is the military strategy of the North. Bring China and America into battle. When that happens, no one wins.

So, let the South cross into the North and end this craziness once and for all.

Japan: Battered by China & Russia

I wonder how much longer Japan is going to tolerate the do-nothing party in power. First, China pushes Japan around due to the arrest of a Chinese national who happened to ram his boat into a Japanese Coast Guard ship. After a lot of huffing and puffing, Tokyo blinked. China won. Now, it is Russia's turn.

A visit to one of the four Northern Islands still held by Russia (basically, they inherited them when the USSR collapsed) and claimed by Japan. I suspect the Japanese Foreign Ministry can do nothing about the visit by the Russian President. Well, it is time for a change in government again. The current party in power is doing nothing to ensure the safety and security of the Japanese.

How I long for the days of the LDP again. I think it is time to recall the current group of legislators and hand the reins of government back to the adults.

How much longer will the public allow the DPJ to stand by and do nothing? As a foreign national in Japan, I fear that the Japan that I have come to love will not be around much longer. Perhaps, it is time to take my family back to Canada. At least there, my son may have a better chance of enjoying a free country. With Russia and China on our doorsteps here, we are but one missile launch away from being run over by the communists. Let's hope the US-Japan security alliance can prevent the 'doomsday scenario'. Let's pray to God for help!
