Wrong question being asked
As I read and watch news pundits talk about the UN being shut out of delivering emergency supplies to cyclone-hit Myanmar (Burma), many are asking this question: "Why can't supplies be delivered directly to the injured and sick?" - Wrong question. The correct question is this: "What is the military junta trying to hide from the UN?" Think about the possible answers and you will truly understand the future problems the world faces in the near future.
If you don't have any ideas, here are some wild guesses. I present, you decide:
Possible answers (choose as many as you like):
1. No disaster exists. What the West is seeing on television is only computer-generated images created by Hollywood.
2. No one died in the cyclone. Therefore, no emergency aid is necessary.
3. Mass graves of government dissenters need to be cleared away before those pesky UN relief workers/spies are allowed to tour the countryside.
4. Andersoon Cooper from CNN insulted the military junta and the rulers are unhappy now.
5. The military junta are usually the same playbook as some western government who did nothing during another natural disaster (I will not point any fingers at the guilty party).
6. The country has a secret military 'weapons of mass destruction' programme that they do not want revealed to the outside world. With this weapon, the military junta believes it can begin a 10-20 year military expansion into its neighbouring countries. Look out!
Well, those are some of the possible reasons. If you have any others, write them up on your own blog for the entire blogosphere to read and share.
