Joke: Are voters going to be fooled yet again?

I received this gem of a joke from a friend in Canada. After I read it, I could not help to think about the symbolism: the people behind the fence are politicians and the fool represents all of us, the voters. Read it and think about how politicians use every dirty trick in the book to get us to accept paying higher taxes, giving away our country to foreign governments, selling our children's future to hostile and unfriendly SWF, etc. You get the picture. Well, without further adieu, here is the joke:

I was walking past the mental hospital the other day, and all the patients were shouting, "13...13....13...13."

The fence was too high to see over, but I saw a little gap in the planks and looked through to see what was going on.

Some bastard poked me in the eye with a stick.

Then they all started shouting. "14...14...14...14....".
